How to setup Media Server, iOS Player and Web Player

The Part-I tutorials can help you to setup your Netsync Media Server if you would like to be a media server owner. You can skip Part-I if you are only to stream video from your friends or family's media server.
The Part-II tutorials can help you how to stram video from media server to Netsync APP for iOS.
The Part-III tutorials can help you how to stram video from media server to your browser. We provide various HLS, MPEG-DASH, Flash Player streaming protocol to fit the various browser.

Part-I Media Server Setup

1. Register an account for Netsync Media Server

Due to Netsync Media Server can be sharing with your friends and family, so we stored random key and random password in our database for give your friends and family access right, so you don't need add password for your friends and family in your media server.

2. Sign-In your Netsync Media Server

The media server sign-in page will pop-up after you download and install the Netsync Media Server. If the media server sign-in page are not pop-up, then please double click the right-bottom Netsync icon on your windows, alternatively you can enter the http://127.0.0.1:5566/ in your browser to enter your media server.
The Netsync Media Server default port is 5566. If your media server is behind from your router, then you need add your media server's LAN IP and 5566 pair to Port-Forwarding in your router if you want streaming video over WAN.

3. Add library in your Netsync Media Server

After you sign-in your media server, you must to add library in your media server before you streaming video from your media server. The library means the video folder in your PC. Arbitrarily video file of .avi .mkv .mp4 .mov .m4v .ts .wmv .rm .rmvb .webm is supported. But, currently the .ts file is not support perfect, please let us know if you have issue about .ts.

4. Set Transcoder and bit-rates parameters

As you can see the left image, Netsync Media Server allow you set different video decoder, video encoder depend on your PC's hardware capacities. If you want to use Intel Quick Sync or nVidia NVENC GPU decoder or GPU encoder please make sure your CPU or your GPU is found in the requirements list.
If your CPU or GPU are not found in the requirements list, it's also have transcoding ability but you must to turn on the video encoder to ffmpeg and video encoder to Microsoft Media Foundation.
Netsync Media Server also allow you to change the video, audio bit-rates for different transcode profile.

5. (Optional) Sharing with your friends and family from your Netsync Media Server

After the above 4 steps, then you can start streaming video from your PC to your iPad, iOS streaming APP. If you don't want sharing with your friends and family, then you can skip this part and jump to Part-II section to start your iOS APP.

In the beginning, the member list are all of empty, you can't see any account in the member section.

A. Invite new member: you can invite a new friends or family by add his email to "Invite new member" section, and click "+" button.We will send a email notification to your friend or family. Before the user approvied your invitation you still can't sharing library with they, for example the "[email protected]" in the left image

B. User approvied your invitation in the user's iPad, iPhone's APP: After user approvied your invitation, the user still can't streaming video from your media server due to you still are not assign the library to they, for example the "[email protected]" in the left image.

C. Assign library to the approved user: Finally, by assign the library to the invited user, then user can start streaming video from your media server to his iPad, iPhone, for example the "[email protected]" in the left image.

Part-II Netsync iOS APP Setup

1. Sign-In for Netsync iOS APP

If you have already sign-up your account, then you don't need sign-up again, just sign-in with the same account with media server.You must sign-in the media server in Part-I, or you want to stream from other media server owner in Part-I 5.

After you sign-in to Netsync iOS APP, then you can see the media server list as left image. If you have no sign-in your media server in the Part-I section and also have no media server owner add you to his member list, then the media server would be empty, you must download and install media server here.

If some media server owner added you to his member list, then the media server would be appear in "member belongs to" section, then you can click this media server for approved or you can either click "x" to remove this media server. After you approved a media server then you still need waiting the media server owner give you a library access right before playing video from his media server.

2. Browsing library and tagging video

You can click the either media server from media server list by above step, then you would be see the video thumbs from library. If you click the video thum then you can start playing video in the step 3. If you click the star icon the you can tagging the video, then your tagged video will showing under the media server in step 1. Also you can click the top menu to switch different library, for example the 'Movie', 'TV Show', 'Drama' in the left image.

3. Playing video and choose streaming bit-rates

After you click the video thumb in step 2, then you can start playing video from media server. The bottom video thumb list means video files in the video folder. This means if you have 10 video files in this video folder, then here will showing max 5 video file, you can click these video thumb to pick video for watching in quickly. If you click video thumb from step 1's tagged video, then video player would start immediately without step 2. You can also the choose different bit-rates by click the right-upper signal button.

Part-III Web Player

1. Login from Right-Upper 'Sigin-In'

If you have already sign-up your account, then you don't need sign-up again, just sign-in with the same account with media server or Netsync iOS APP.You must sign-in the media server in Part-I, or you want to stream from other media server owner in PartI 5.

After you sign-in to Web Login, then you can see the media server list as left image. If you have no sign-in your media server in the Part-I section and also have no media server owner add you to his member list, then the media server would be empty, you must download and install media server here.

If some media server owner added you to his member list, then the media server would be appear in "member belongs to" section, then you can click this media server for approved or you can either click "x" to remove this media server. 2. Browsing library
